MAJICAL MOMENTS - BELLER ROUNDS OUT YEAR WITH POLE AND SILVERWARE

Beller Motorsport driver Cameron Beller narrowly missed victory - after taking pole in qualifying on Saturday - with 2 second place finishes, during the Porsche 944 Australia championships ‘Island Magic’ event round at Phillip Island in Victoria.

Beller fought tooth and nail every inch of the way with winner Jamie Westaway, the lead changing various times throughout both races and with literally ‘less than a second’ separating the 2 cars for the entire two races.

In the end it was Westaway who secured victory with Beller claiming the second step of the podium in races 1 and 2.

Beller Motorsport teammate Jack Atley secured his first Top 10 race result in his second event.

In Race 3, Beller’s No 1 car suffered a rare gearbox issue forcing retirement.

Despite the ‘festival’feel to the event, with large crowds and sunny weather, the Round was called as a points scoring one in the Porsche 944 Australia championship - with the loss of other events throughout the year due to coronavirus restrictions - with Beller narrowly missing out on his 5th overall crown.

Westbon management’s Jamie Westaway took the title with Cameron Beller in second.
